Tapp-BDP is an app which assists operation and maintenance of piped water supply systems in Bangladesh.
Piped water supply consumers and water service providers both have their own app (Tapp-BDP Consumer or Tapp-BDP Service Provider) which communicate with each other and with a web application that is used to monitor the piped water supply from a distance.
This app is the Tapp-BDP Service Provider app.
The Tapp-BDP app can be used in Bangla and in English and includes five domains:
(a)\tService: the consumer can submit service requests and instantly contact the supplier / operator in case of any water issues.
The service provider receives timely notification of maintenance work and water quality issues.
(b)\tWater quality testing: the service provider conducts regular water quality tests of the piped water supply system.
The consumer can track the water quality of the supplied water, but also request a water quality test for both piped water and for hand-pump water.
All water quality data will be send to a database and become available to both the service providers, consumers, local and national government, and involved organisations.
(c)\tPayment: The service provider can create payment requests for service delivery, water quality tests or water bill payment.
Consumers can pay their bills in person or online.
(d)\tKnowledge: provides information on water safety, preventive measures, hygiene, health consequences and actions to take.
(e)\tConnect: provides a platform for interaction.
Users can share knowledge and information regarding water supply and water quality via a forum, and stay in touch with each other, the operators, water suppliers and mechanics for service purposes via their in-build contact list.
