IN DETAIL: Cloak uses a newer version of symmetric cryptography called Secret Key Obfuscation.
The secret key is not physically stored anywhere - it is created when needed with strong cryptographic algorithms.
The cryptographic algorithm takes the secret key, splits it into pieces, and then distributes to encryption systems; as such, each system must be authenticated to give you a piece of the secret in order to be able to re-create the original secret key.
