My name is Katie Emory and I am the founder and houseplant specialist at The Plant Shanty.
I started The Plant Shanty in January of 2020 after selling my marketing and design business.
I had decided that I needed to get back to my roots and get involved with something that I love.
Ever since I was little, I have always been passionate about plants.
Whether they were houseplants, or outside flowers, I was always up to my wrists in soil helping my Grandmother and Mother with their own plants.
I loved to watch them grow and knowing I was a part of that process.
As I have navigated through the ups and downs of life, plants have always been a constant for me.
Caring for my plants provides me with a sense of peace and brings joy into my life.
The mission of The Plant Shanty has become helping others find that same joy in plants.
We have found ourselves in a very different world than ever before.
With work at home being a necessity not just a trend, homes have become a personal sanctuary where joy and comfort is essential.
This has resulted in a new type of shopper with new interests.
The significant changes in todays workforce has resulted in The Plant Shantys rapid growth and business success.
We have gained consumers like you that want the benefits of an urban jungle in their home with the aspiration to become houseplant collectors.
