BUFU is a great way for friends and classmates to share their writings for fun but mostly as a way to improve their vocabulary by applying it in the writing of short stories.
These short stories typically take one to five minutes to read.
The simple idea is for you to write and/or read as many as you can as a way to master the writing skill while exercising your newly acquired vocabulary.
When you apply vocabulary in writing, you are more likely to remember it but if you don't then you forget.
Everyone can be involved, the short stories fall into four categories:
1) Kid2Kid - those are short stories written by kids for other kids to read;
2) Kid2Adults - those are written by kids to convey some message to adults;
3) Adult2Kids - those are written by adults especially for kids;
4) Adult2Adult - those are written by adults especially for other adults.
Each story published in BUFU is assigned a status which indicates the level of review applied and therefore its trust.
A newly published story is considered to be RAW and its circulation is only limited to group members.
Once a story has been reviewed by group members of the publish, its status is bumped up to SEMITRUSTED.
A story that has been checked by BUFU staff is bumped up to CURATED status.
Any member of BUFU can publish a short story as a PDF document consisting of text and pictures - everyone can be involved.
If you enjoy reading a story, BUFU makes it easy for you to notify your friends to check out your writings.
The search function allows you to pick just the right kind of story you are after based on category, trust status, number of likes and other things.
