What is PokeCheck?
PokeCheck is an application designed to be used with a Pokefi device.
The application allows you to constantly check your battery status and the data left.
It also checks if youre connected to your device or not.
If your data left falls below a certain threshold, you will get a notification and with devices with Android 9 or below your Wifi will disconnect in order to save data.
Then you can rebook data via the web interface of the Pokefi.
This is not possible if there is no data left.
Why does PokeCheck need my location?
It does because we want to check the status of your wifi, to be more precise, the name of the network youre connected with.
Thus we know when you are connected to your Pokefi.
Due to Googles Android design decisions, we have to ask you for the permission to receive location data all the time in order to do this, because technically one could conclude your location just by getting information about your wifi network.
But PokeCheck does not use nor send or sell any precise location data.
What does PokeCheck cost?
PokeCheck is free and always will be.
Also no data is sold or profit made in any other way.
We think about a donation feature in the future in order to improve the app and do a professional translation into chinese or cantonese.
