CovidTAC is a participatory surveillance mobile application developed by Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information (WKWSCI), NTU in collaboration with the National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID) and the Ministry of Health (MOH) that provides two-way communications on COVID-19 for the NTU community.
The app tracks data about health symptoms and real-time crowd levels across the NTU campus.
It also serves as a platform for health awareness and sharing of COVID-19-related information, to educate the community on preventative measures.
Due to the nature of COVID-19, densely-populated areas in NTU are vulnerable to higher rates of transmission.
CovidTAC will allow early detection of illness and highlight hotspots and potential infection trends.
This mobile app will allow the NTU community to actively contribute and visualize near real-time data on symptom incidence and crowd levels through the power of crowdsourcing.
This data can help everyone to adopt precautionary measures to safeguard their health, for example by avoiding densely populated areas such as specific canteens during lunch hours.
