Convert anywhere into a mapname: prefix.group(optional).suffix
How it works?
1.
At the stage of onboarding you pick up a prefix.
Think this as a userId.
That is all about onboarding, no other info is needed.
2.
Once you find a place worth remembering - add a name, this name is the suffix of the mapname.
mapname becomes: prefix.suffix
3.
In some cases you may like to group the mapname then mapname is prefix.group.suffix
Why should I create a mapname?
Whenever you want to talk about a place, you may refer to it by its mapname.
Lets say you are preparing a trip Video about Valencia and you like to talk about a coffee shop you have visited, you may simply add subtitle like abc.valencia.coffee to your video.
Your Viewers can find the precise location by looking at this mapname.
By using its mapname you will not spend time talking about where exactly it was and your followers, friends, viewers has no problem finding it.
Mapname can be opened in your favourite maps app.
Google Maps, Apple Maps, Yandex Maps etc.
Assume you want to talk about a group of places then you simply refer your mapname prefix, as in: I was in tapas bar at Barcelona, you may see at mapname prefix abc.
Or you may refer to group under your prefix abc.barcelona
While creating a mapname you may choose to associate an image with it, then it will be easier to visualize the place, you may get your orders delivered to its mapname rather than its address.
Imagine you are in the middle of the park where there is no exact address to it.
It is also a way of socialising interesting places, discovering new places, learning from maps and talk about them.
Socialise
Mapname is also way of finding interesting places to visit.
Once you are at the new location, instead of figuring out yourself, you may find a local friend and browse her/his maps, this will be the interesting locations or locations that relate to you.
You are anonymous
Mapname is not associated with your persona or id, it is all about locations.
By default prefix is anonymous unless you broadcast it.
Groups
This is a collection of mapnames grouped together like vision board such as berlintodo, flower, history, carmuseums, if your prefix is x then these groups are accessible via x.berlintodo, x.flower.
You may have more than one prefix
Some of your prefixes can be public and people may know about it some of them can be private
Feed
You can follow a group of mapname users and their content can be streamed to your feed.
While creating a mapname you may opt to use private or do not publish to Feed", if you do not want your followers to see your content
Mapname without image
Simply keep the place with its name and optionally description
Emojis
How would you describe a place with a single emoji?
Once you invent a mapname you may prefer to associate that place with an emoji, then this emoji will be marked in your map.
Me (Your Profile)
Keep the places in your pocket.
Your mapnames are stored at your mapname profile
Browsing Maps
You can browse any other users map.
See where they have been or named.
Search for the prefix, go to their profile, and click on the map button after opening their profile by clicking .
(More button).
By default you will see the most visited regions of the world.
You can then go ahead and view other details.
Use of Images
You can create a mapname without an image.
Or use your image gallery or camera to pick an image and associate it with a mapname.
Podium
Mapnames selected to be on the podium are special content and promoted regionally or globally
