Apples HealthKit functionality is integrated in the apps user interface so you can share data with Apples Health app.

`The app is curated and contains 325+ common (mainly healthy) foods and drinks and you can add your own branded and other foods and recipes at any time using the barcode scanner, voice recognition or the keyboard.
This means that provided you add your barcoded foods to the app via the Add food tab the app can function without access to the Internet (it will need access to the internet and OpenFoodFacts.org if a barcode is not in the apps database).
