Rewire Mindfulness

Rewire is aimed at helping adolescents effectively manage stress and reduce and/or quit their substance use.
The Rewire app applies a mindfulness approach as the guiding framework.
In contrast to more traditional approaches to substance use treatment that focus primarily on cue avoidance and diverting attention from cravings, the mindfulness approach to substance use treatment emphasizes disrupting the associative learning process that often occurs with substance use by teaching non-reactive awareness of the craving without acting on the desire to use.
The goal is to assist adolescents in effectively managing stress and associated cues for substance use.
This process can lead to decreased emotional reactivity, less frequent negative emotional states, and the intentional choice to engage in more adaptive coping responses.,
