I started my journey with the triangle choke when I was a purple belt.
And, I found that this submission was the antidote to the big and strong wrestlers who were starting to join our academy.
While it was very difficult for us white, blue, and purple belts to put these wrestlers onto their backs and keep them there, I discovered that the triangle choke was one of three submissions they were repeatedly vulnerable to in sparring.
So, with a limited amount of success, I determined to focus the majority of my training on this one submission - and it paid off handsomely!
