iPhone app Puna Ako

Welcome to Puna Ako a well spring of learning Mori language and protocols.

This app has been developed for Treasury staff and clients who are keen to increase their confidence and knowledge of te reo Mori and tikanga Mori - to assist them in their daily work.

Interactive features within the app include pronunciation of Mori words, maps with Mori names and iwi groups, values (Ng Mtpono), and principles, mihimihi/pepeha (introductions), ng mihi (greetings), poroporoaki (farewells), whakatauk (proverbs), and waiata (songs).

One of the apps key features is that it allows staff to input their own personal information to create a customised pepeha.
Treasury staff will find this resource particularly helpful when leading, or being part of discussions that involve Mori communities.
