Simple MFI holds information about clients, groups, loans, transactions and passbook data, and is designed to replace the paper ledgers that most microfinance officers maintain daily.
The data needed by Simple MFI is copied locally on to the phone, and the app works just fine without Internet connectivity.
Synchronization schedules are controlled by the user, and can be set up to keep airtime costs low.
To try the application out, enter "sample" as your organization.
Simple MFI is open source, and is based off the Manta offline synchronization framework.
Any microfinance institution can get started with Simple MFI and Manta easily and for free.
Simple MFI is designed to work well with any MIS, by simply exporting data from your SQL database directly.
IMPORTANT NOTE: You must also install the Manta Sync application before you can use Simple MFI.
