The object of the game is to be the first team to reach a set amount of points.
The Spanish deck of forty cards is used.
The order of the cards, from highest to lowest, is: Ace (11 points), 3 (10 points), King (4 points), Knight (3 points), Jack (2 points), 7, 6, 5, 4 and 2 (white cards, they have no value).
The first card played determines the starting suit, each player must follow the same suit.
If a player has no cards of the leading suit, that player may play any card (including any trump cards).
The highest card of the trump suit always wins the trick.
If no trump cards are played, the trick goes to the highest card of the leading suit.
It is mandatory to follow the suit (assist), fail (play trumps if you cannot follow the suit) and kill (play a higher value card, the one that wins the trick, whenever possible), otherwise it is possible to play any card.
